Clue #4 - Flowers and bubbles

The 4th clue for our mystery blanket contains the first 6 rounds of a large square, worked according to diagram A.2., which we will make in 2 different color combinations. We will use the same stitches as before, but combining them to make, among other things, bubbles and other exciting patterns!

Colors

The first 6 rounds in A.2 are worked in the following colors:

CAST ON + ROUND 1: 01 white
ROUND 2: 17 light lilac
ROUNDS 3 - 4: 15 heather
ROUND 5: 01 white
ROUND 6: 17 light lilac

COLOR TIPS:
Are you using a different color combination than the one we are crocheting with? Make a small note of which color number replaces which before starting, by seeing the original materials here.

CROCHET INFO:
Information written between two * is to be repeated every time there is *-* in the text.
The red symbols in the diagrams are described in the text over the pictures.

Let's get started!

CAST ON:
Work 4 chain stitches with white, form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch.

ROUND 1:
Work 3 chain stitches (= 1st double crochet).

Work * 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in the chain-stitch ring *, repeat *-* 11 times in total, 1 chain stitch (= 12 double crochets).

Finish with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round, read COLOR CHANGE TIP below. Change to light lilac, cut the white strand.

COLOR CHANGE TIP:
To get the neatest transition possible when changing colors, work the last stitch of the round with the new color.

ROUND 2:
Work 1 slip stitch in the chain stitch from the previous round, work «BUBBLE AT THE START OF THE ROUND», as follows: 3 chain stitches (equivalent to 1 double crochet), work 3 double crochets in the same stitch, slip the loop from the last double crochet, push the hook in the front of the third chain stitch at the top of the first double crochet worked, pick up the loop from the last double crochet and pull it through the stitch on the hook.

Work * 3 chain stitches, «BUBBLE» as follows: Work 4 double crochets in the next chain stitch, slip the loop from the last double crochet off the hook, push the hook in the front of the top of the first double crochet worked, pick up the loop from the last double crochet and pull it through the stitch on the hook *, repeat *-* 11 times in total, 3 chain stitches = 12 bubbles.

Finish with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch (in the 1st bubble) at the beginning of the round.

ROUND 3:

Work * 1 single crochet around the chain-space, 5 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around the next chain space, 9 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around the next chain-space, 5 chain stitches *, repeat *-* 4 times in total.

Finish with 1 slip stitch in the 1st single crochet at the beginning of the round.

ROUND 4:
Work 1 slip stitch in each of the next 2 chain stitches, 1 chain stitch.

Work *1 single crochet around the chain-space, 2 chain stitches, 5 double crochets around the 9-chain-space, 3 chain stitches (corner), 5 double crochets around the same 9-chain-space, 2 chain stitches, 1 single crochet around the next 5-chain-space, 5 chain stitches *, repeat *-* 4 times in total.

Finish with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round (= 84 double crochets, 8 chain stitches and 4 corner with 3 chain-stitches, around the square).

Put your work a side and crochet the same square again in this new color combination:

CAST ON + ROUND 1: 01 white
ROUND 2: 16 lilac
ROUNDS 3 - 4: 15 heather
ROUND 5: 01 white
ROUND 6: 17 light lilac

Finished!

This is what both color combinations look like after working according to diagram A.2, up to and including round 6.

The final result of clue #4 is then 2 squares of approx. 17 cm / X'' x 17 cm / X''.
